Summer ST-ARTS 2024 is open to non district-sponsored students!

Program tuition is $740 for all three weeks and is due once you have been accepted into the program. If you are interested in submitting an audition as a non-district sponsored participant, please email us the following at starts@winthrop.edu

STARTS non-sponsored online submissions: 2024

 

If you need to submit a large video or multiple pictures, you will need to upload as a ZIP file or ZIP file folder. This is the only format allowed for large or multiple files. 

 

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

THEATRE AUDITIONS 

 

You may pick either option:

  1. Prepare a theatre piece - a lip sync, a song, a poem, a monologue, a creative piece only 60 - 90 seconds in length.

 

-OR-

 

  1. Perform an “I AM” Poem. The structure is as follows.   

Finish each statement by performing it:

I AM......

I See.......

I hear....

I smell.....

I taste.....

I feel.....

I AM.....

 

MUSIC AUDITIONS:

  • Prepare one piece to be sung or played. 

  • Submit home video recording of 3 - 5 minutes of performance

  • Sheet music (pdf) should be submitted with video

 

In the video, each student needs to introduce themselves with the following information: 

  1. Name

  2. School

  3. Current Grade

  4. Title of piece to be performed

 

 

FINE ARTS AUDITIONS:

  • Submit 5-10 photos of completed works of art 

  • Short essay or paragraph that describes your artistic interests and influences in art.

 

 

DANCE AUDITIOINS:

  • Submit a 90 second home video of student performing dance movement of their choice (may be set choreography or improvisational).

  • Short paragraph on why interested in attending the ST-Arts Dance summer program. 

    • List any previous dance experience. (ex: public school dance program, summer camp, studio, types of dance: Irish, ballet, creative movement, tap, musical theatre, etc. *previous experience not required).
