All Arts Area loading zones are found on One-Way streets. Please form a queue starting at your designated Arts Area and students will be allowed to board your vehicle once you reach the front of the line. Please arrive before your student’s dismissal in order to expedite the boarding process. ST-ARTS personnel cannot be responsible for late pick up. We thank you for extending this courtesy as we coordinate two sessions.
What to Wear? What to Bring?
Dress for the program will be casual. Dance majors should dress appropriately. Students will receive
any other instructions regarding special dress at the first class meeting. If a student’s dress is deemed inappropriate, parents will be contacted. Students enrolled in some visual arts courses may need to provide some materials from home. These instructions will also be given during the first class meeting. Skateboards are not permitted. Cell phones may only be used between classes. Cell phones used during class will be confiscated.

Due to the short session format this summer, we will not take a meal break. There is no need to bring a sack lunch this year.
Guests? Appointments?
Guests are NOT allowed during the program as liability is not covered by our insurance. Also, Winthrop is following social distancing procedures which strictly limits room capacities. Parents are encouraged to allow their student to take advantage of all 3 hours of the daily program. However, should a student need to leave for an appointment, the ST-ARTS Office will need to be notified and the student must be checked out with their area coordinator.
COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
During the Summer 2021 term, Winthrop University is following precautions for the safety of it’s faculty, staff, and students. All summer classes are asked to observe social distancing and wear a mask while inside the classroom. Masking, however, is no longer required outdoors on campus. These are the procedures dictated by the university and what ST-ARTS must observe to remain compliant.

We thank you for your cooperation and support in order to protect our entire Winthrop community. Here are the steps we are taking to ensure your student’s safety:
-
If your student is not able to bring a mask, a disposable one will be provided by the instructor while they are in class. Students may remove their mask if class is held outside.
-
We have greatly reduced class sizes to ensure that social distancing measures are upheld.
-
Classrooms are cleaned and sanitized each morning. Sanitizer is then provided in each classroom to disinfect high touch areas in-between classes. When possible, classes have been placed into groupings to reduce hallway congestion as well as student-to-student contact.
-
We are limiting the sharing of instruments and are taking steps to clean and disinfect them
between users.
